Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett (I got this from the library and then lagged on reading it and couldn't finish it by the time they wanted it back and somebody else requested it, so I had to give it back. So I gave in and bought it which was what I wanted to do in the first place. Darn Oprah and her book club!)
